DOUBLE 0 LAUNCHES NATIONAL MAGAZINE CAMPAIGN.

Life Survival has launched a four-week national advertisement campaign to celebrate the creation of its newest event, Double O Secret Agent Experience.
The national magazine campaign began in October with a half page advert in Tatler’s 300th Anniversary Edition followed by a half page advert in GQ and BMI international magazines.

The campaign is focused at men and women who are looking for an exciting, elegant and intriguing insight into the world of espionage. The BMI advert also highlights that the experience is perfect for business leaders to entertain clients at the luxurious Rushton Hall Hotel and Spa.

Tina Harrison, Director of Life Survival, said “We are delighted to be in a position to advertise this event nationally. It has taken a considerable amount of investment in time, money and expertise to create an experience that is close to the real deal.”

To celebrate the launch of the event Life Survival is offering a 15% discount for bookings taken before the 31st December 2009. The national advertisement campaign will reach over 1 million readers.

LOUISE'S FIGHT FOR SIGHT

When Louise Kennedy spoke to her friends about raising money to fight eye disease, no-one would have considered who she was planning to have her fight with.

Louise, 27, who has suffered eye disease for over 10 years, was only too pleased to test her metal against former members of the British Army’s elite regiment, the SAS! For two days she was taught how to set up a military style camp, live off the land and how to rescue hostages from a room, SAS style, before putting her new found skills to use during a night mission.

The Charity Survival Challenge was organised by St Paul’s Eye Unit to raise funds for research into blindness. The internationally renowned ‘centre of excellence’ brought together 16 people from all over the North West of England to challenge themselves under the instruction of the ultimate survival experts.

Louise, a Forensic Psychologist in Training, said, “The information was purposely kept to a minimum and my imagination had run wild in the days and weeks leading up to the event, but still I never came close to imagining the adventures I was about to experience. It has to be one of the toughest challenges of my entire life but it’s hard to explain the sense of achievement and satisfaction I have gained from the weekend.”

“Having suffered from Uveitis for many years, I am extremely thankful for the help and support I have received from St. Paul’s Eye Hospital. Uveitus can cause blindness if not treated but the care I received has been first class. I was thrilled to have been given the opportunity to give something back to such a worthwhile cause and to meet some amazing people.”

Over £6,000 was raised to help create a £1/4 million Early Detection Suite. The aim of the Early Detection Suite is to bring together many different medical specialists to develop new technologies, practices and treatments for many eye diseases, including diabetic retinopathy and AMD, the commonest cause of blindness in the world. A specialist centre like this has never been established before and will form the blueprint for centres around the world.

Louise continued, “Life Survival is an inspirational organisation that captivates the imaginations of all who take part in the ‘Survival Weekend’. As well as all the skills we were taught I felt we had the opportunity to escape from our everyday lives and experience a very unique and motivational event.”

“Since participating, my outlook on life has changed in many ways. I’ve improved my fitness levels, joined a gym and even climbed Mount Snowdon! I have also discovered a strong sense of self-belief and the determination and confidence to handle whatever life has to throw at me. Life Survival has encouraged me to grow mentally as well as physically, and inspired me to seize every opportunity that comes my way. My adventure did not end that weekend; it has only just begun.”
